Turkey's best jazz players
are together
with the
talents of the young generation:

 

Istanbul Superband has a vast repertoire, ranging from standards
to contemporary jazz pieces. It is great Big Band music with today's sound;
lots of groove, unique interpretations and the best artists!

The Big Band, conducted by Aycan Teztel, consists of many masters of jazz
such as, Senova Ulker, Levent Altindag, Ercument Ates, Yahya Dai, Engin Recepogullari, Volkan Oktem, Serkan Ozyilmaz and Eylem Pelit. The young generation's talents, such as Bulut Gülen, Serdar Barcin, Gokay Goksen,
A & B Salliel and Utku Akyol are an integral part of the band.

Dianne Reeves, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Natalie Cole, Kurt Elling are some of the big stars that have performed as guest artists in the band's concerts.

Istanbul Superband was formed by Aycan Teztel in 2002. The group has performed many great concerts in Istanbul. One of them was the aftershow of the Herbie Hancock, Michael Brecker and Roy Hargrove concert in the 9th International Istanbul Jazz Festival in 2002. Another was the Is Sanat Concert in 2003, which was reviewed as "one of the best jazz concerts in Turkey's history." The band also performed in the 11th and 12th International Istanbul Music Festival. Among the band's more recent activities is the participation of the group in the Leverkusener Jazz Festival in Germany with Okan Ersan in 2006 and 2007.
